Cuttack: As a tribute to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, Cuttack district administration has proposed that a city road be named after the legendary leader.

"We are going to suggest to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) to name either the road in front of Netaji?s ancestral home in Odia Bazar or the one in front of Ravenshaw Collegiate, where Netaji studied, as `Netaji Marg`, district collector Kishore Mohanty said today.

The city civic body which has also geared up in a big way to celebrate Netaji Jayanti on January 23 has appreciated the idea. "We are yet to receive any such proposal. But I am sure the proposal would be welcomed by the CMC council," said city Mayor Soumendra Kumar Ghosh.
