Property of former IAS officer seized
Sanjiv Ray was pronounced guilty and awarded jail term by the special vigilance court on Janury 25. Sanjiv was foumd to be guilty of possessing ill-gotten property worth Rs 15,48,017. The vigilance court had asked to seize his assets on August 20. Several bank accounts of Sanjiv Ray and his familty too have been seized. Sanjiv,however, has filed a case in the high court pleading not to auction his house.
The vigilance court in the past had given orders to seize the farm house of former IAS officer Ramesh Chandra Behera located at Berhampur. The special court has recently given an order to seize the proprty of a former IPS officer.
