Bhubaneswar: Sunil Roy, the newly appointed ADG, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) and Binayananda Jha, ADG (law and order) have been selected to receive  President’s Police medal for distinguished services (PPMDS) on the occasion of Independence day-2013.
 
Besides this, while 17 other police personnel have been chosen for Police medal for gallantry (PMG), 11 will receive Police medal for meritorious services (PMMS), an official release of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.
 
Similarly, Runibala Devi, jailor, Naribandi niketan in Sambalpur has been selected for President’s correctional service medal for distinguished services.
 
The release further said, Berhampur circle jail warder Saroj Kumar Lenka and Sulav Charan Jena, district probation officer, Cuttack will receive correctional service medal for meritorious service.
Police Medals for Meritorious Service will be conferred on Umesh Chandra Dani (vice principal, police training college, Angul), Gopabandhu Pati (assistant director, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Bhubaneswar), Ashish Kumar Dubey (assistant commandant, SOG, Chandaka), Tapan Narayan Rath (Inspector, office of SP, Nabarangpur), Hadibandhu Behera (sub inspector, Angul police station), Khetra Mohan Behera (sub inspector, vigilance, Cuttack Division), Dasarathi Jena (deputy sub inspector, Cuttack UPD), Gopal Krishna Padhi (assistant sub inspector, Berhampur, Vigilance Division), Giridhari Naik (Havildar Major, Koroput police station), Biranchi Narayan Sahoo (constable, BPSPA, Ranasinghpur) and Prahallad Kumar Rout (constable, Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack).
 
The police personnel chosen for the Police Medals for Gallantry are: R Prakash (Bolangir SP), Santosh Juang (constable), Trinath Todapadia (constable), Bhuban Chandra Dev (lance naik), Laxmi Narayan Muduli (constable), Sadhan Biswas (cobstable), Laxmi Vara Prasad Vasupalli (constable), Gedela Srikant Kumar (constable), Ambika Prasad Patra (constable), Deenabandhu Naik (constable), Santosh Juang (constable), Trinath Todapadia (constable), Manoranjan Paikray (sub inspector), Arun Kumar Behera (sub inspector), Marathi Rabi (constable), Sarathi Bhuiyan (constable) and Manoj Kumar Guru (constable).
