President Murmu's Odisha visit enters 4th day, marathon engagements scheduled in Mayurbhanj

President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Odisha entered its fourth day on Thursday, with the President scheduled to take part in a series of engagements across Mayurbhanj district. 

The visit continues to combine cultural, personal and official programmes spread across multiple locations.

Documentary Shoots And Local Visits

As part of the day’s itinerary, the President is scheduled to participate in documentary shooting programmes at Rairangpur, her in-laws’ village Pahadpur, and her ancestral village Uparbeda. The engagements are aimed at documenting her personal and regional connections, alongside broader cultural narratives linked to the area.

Later in the day, President Murmu is scheduled to visit the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur, where she will offer prayers to Lord Jagannath and partake of the prasad. Following the temple visit, she will travel towards Jashipur and is scheduled to spend the night at Similipal National Park.

Visit To Puri And Religious Observances

On Wednesday, the President undertook religious rituals in Puri, where she performed Pinda Daan at Shwetaganga and subsequently visited Srimandir to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath. After completing the engagements in Puri, President Murmu travelled to her native place Rairangpur.

Development Projects And Public Engagements

During her stay in Rairangpur, the President attended multiple official programmes. These included the inauguration of a holiday home established by the Central government and participation in the platinum jubilee celebrations of SSD Girls’ High School.

She also laid foundation stones and inaugurated a series of development projects worth Rs 284 crore. The projects cover health, education, sports and urban infrastructure sectors, and are aimed at strengthening regional facilities and public amenities in the area.
