President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday extended warm New Year greetings to the people of the country, conveying her wishes for peace, progress and collective well-being.
Taking to social media platform X, the President wished all Indians a happy New Year, expressing hope that the coming year would bring happiness and positive change in everyone’s lives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted citizens on the occasion, wishing everyone a happy and prosperous 2026. In his New Year message, the Prime Minister said he hoped the year would bring new hopes, new resolutions and renewed self-confidence for all. He expressed confidence that 2026 would inspire people to move forward in life with optimism and determination.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined national leaders in extending New Year wishes. In his message, the Chief Minister called upon people to take new resolutions in the New Year and work collectively towards building a strong and prosperous Odisha. He emphasised unity and commitment for the state’s development and progress.
BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda also greeted people on the occasion, wishing that the New Year would bring good health, peace and prosperity to all.
Leader of the Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik likewise conveyed his New Year greetings, expressing hope that the year ahead would be marked by happiness, peace and prosperity for everyone.
As 2026 begins, messages of goodwill and optimism from leaders across the political spectrum reflected a shared aspiration for harmony, progress and well-being in the year ahead.
