President Droupadi Murmu Arrives in Odisha on six-day visit

President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived in Odisha on Monday evening on a six-day visit. She reached Bhubaneswar by a special Indian Air Force aircraft and will stay overnight at Lok Bhavan. 

During her visit, the President is scheduled to attend programmes across five districts of the State- Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj -over the course of six days.

President Murmu will travel to Jajpur on Tuesday, where she will offer prayers at the revered Maa Biraja Temple. She will spend more than one and a half hours at the temple. From Jajpur, she will proceed to Balasore to attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University, where she will interact with graduating students.

The President will arrive in Puri and stay overnight on February 3. She will visit Srimandir to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath on the following day. She will also perform 'Pinda Dana' at Swetaganga. From Puri, she will travel directly to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.

In Rairangpur, President Murmu will address a large public gathering and interact with people in her native region. Her itinerary also includes the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies of several development projects.

After offering prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur, the President will travel via Jashipur to the scenic Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary on February 5, where she will spend the night. She is scheduled to interact with tribal women and youth from the Similipal region on the following day.

In view of the President’s visit, elaborate and tight security arrangements have been put in place across all locations included in her itinerary.
