Power outage affects Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Medical College, patients treated without lights

Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Medical College in Odisha's Puri faced electricity issues on Sunday throughout the night, affecting both patients and attendants. The male and female medicine wards remained without a power supply during the night, resulting in patient care being carried out without lighting.

Patients and their attendants alleged that the absence of electricity caused discomfort due to heat and poor ventilation. Despite informing the medical staff about the matter, no steps have reportedly taken to resolve the issue so far.

Attempts to contact the principal of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College regarding the power outage were unsuccessful, as his phone remained switched off. The matter has been raised by attendants seeking an early resolution.

Patient Shares Experience

A patient admitted to the hospital said, “We called the concerned persons for repair work, but they said they wouldn’t come as it was Sunday. As a senior citizen, it is uncomfortable to stay in such conditions.”

Patients have requested that the electricity problem be addressed promptly to ensure uninterrupted hospital services.
