Bhubaneswar: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Friday protested foreign companies’ industrial investment in India including Korean steel major Posco which has proposed to set up an 8 mtpa greenfield steel plant near Paradip with an investment of Rs 52,000 crore.

Addressing a farmers’ meet in Jagatsinghpur the social activist came heavily on the central government for allowing these companies to enter into India and said that foreign companies like Posco can’t bring about development of villages.

“How can the government acquire farmers’ lands in the name of industrialisation without the consent of gram sabhas,” asked Anna adding the peasants are the owners not the government.

The septuagenarian, lambasting the Central government said it didn’t want a corruption-free India and that’s why formation of an organisation was needed to remove the government.

“It’ll take two years to form a national level organisation of six crore members to help the government fall to build a corruption-free India,” Hazare said.
