(image) Bhubaneswar: The land acquisition for Posco`s mega steel plant in Jagatsinghpur, which was scheduled to resume today has been stopped for the day due to rain.

The district administration had on Thursday decided to resume the land acquiring process after a five day break.

Even as the administration had planned to resume the acquisition process, the agitators had planned to oppose it.

Earlier, Steel and mines minister Raghunath Mohanty had said that there was absolutely no use of force for land acquisition. “We believe in peaceful industrialization in the state," he added.

Meanwhile Posco Pratirodh Sangram Samiti (PPSS) had decided to prevent a repeat of government officials entering Gobindpur village through the forest while the protests were on at the entry point.
