Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police is yet to arrest the accused in connection with the murder of a youth who reportedly opposed drugs trade in Sarakantara area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Even though a special team was formed to nab the prime accused Bharat Sahu alias Bapi and his two associates, no progress has been made in the case so far.

The three miscreants had attacked Anil Jena and his father Abhimanyu Jena over suspected past rivalry. Though the father-son duo was rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Anil was declared brought dead by the doctors at the hospital.

"While I was having a conversation with my son, the accused suddenly came to the spot on a bike and first fired at my son and then targeted me," said Abhimanyu.

Speaking on the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Anup Sahoo said, "There are cases pending against the prime accused Bapi and he was arrested earlier but later released on bail. We have formed a special team and will nab all the accused very soon."

It is pertinent to mention that the Commissionerate Police is yet to nab several accused in connection with the murder of Amaresh Nayak who was killed in Sundarapada area of the capital city.

Also, the prime accused and friend of lady advocate whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her rented house located at Lingipur in Dhauli area last month is yet to be traced.
