Police arrest lawyer in connection with murder of scrap trader in Ganjam

Ganjam: Police arrested a lawyer today in connection with the murder of a scrap trader in Bhanjanagar area of Ganjam. The arrested lawyer has been identified as Golak Behera who hails from Nayagarh.

According to sources, Jagannathprasad police had launched an investigation into the mysterious death of the scrap trader and subsequently arrested Behera after establishing his involvement.

Reportedly, the scrap trader identified as Balakrushna Sahu was murdered by some miscreants on November 5 at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam. The miscreants allegedly thrashed Sahu to death with a hammer before looting Rs 35,000.

According to sources, Behera helped the accused in escaping from the spot by providing them his vehicle. Behera had also shared the looted money with the accused, informed sources.

Police have arrested all the three accused in connection and seized Rs 15,500 and a motorcycle from their possession.
