Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would inaugurate the 99th National Science Congress in the state capital on January 3. The prestigious congress is being held in the state after a long gap of 35 years. The congress is being organised by the state government in collaboration with NISER and KIIT.

According to the organisers, about 15,00 representatives including about 5,000 from foreign countries would participate in the congress. A high level meeting was held in the state secretariat regarding the smooth conduct of the 5-day congress. The meeting decided to roll out a Bigyan Rath (science rath) from Puri which would cover all the 30 districts in the state.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would give away the UNESCO sponsored Kalinga award during the congress. Manmohan might come to the state for the second time in a week to attend the closing in ceremony.
