‘PM Modi to announce projects worth Rs 14.5k crore for Odisha’
Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil projects worth Rs 14,523 crore during his visit to Odisha on December 24. This was announced by Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan at a press conference in New Delhi today.
During his visit, PM Modi will unveil a commemorative Rs 200 coin and a postal stamp as a part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of Paika Rebellion in the State, Pradhan informed.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the Buxi Jagabandhu chair at Utkal University and announce a grant of Rs 5 crore for research. He will also lay the foundation stone for Bokaro-Angul gas pipeline and Paradip-Hyderabad IOCL pipeline, Pradhan added.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the campus of IIT Bhubaneswar and lay the foundation stone of the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Berhampur. Moreover, he will also inaugurate the Buddha Museum at Lalitgiri, sources said.
“PM Modi will unveil projects that will change the course of Odisha’s economy, employment structure and boost revenue, tourism and education. He will also honour the Paika Rebellion during his visit”, Pradhan said.
Union Minister for Culture, Mahesh Sharma said “The Indian government has decided to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Odisha’s Paika Rebellion and release a coin on the occasion.”
