Rourkela: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to undertake a visit to the Steel City Rourkela on April 1 to dedicate the modernisation project of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to the country.

During his visit, Modi is also likely to lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the existing airstrip in the city, which was last month visited by a 4-member team of Airport Authority of India (AAI), said BJP MP Juel Oram.

Besides this, PM would like to address a public gathering and examine a number of pending projects including a plan to convert the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into a medical college, Oram added.

Meanwhile, Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray said, “I have discussed Nabakalebara with Modi ji and the Centre already sanctioned Rs 50 crore for this and apart from this PM would like to hold a discussion on three projects such as airports, medical college and Brahmani bridge”.
