Bhubaneswar: Higher education minister Badri Narayan Patra on Friday announced that the Plus Two Chemistry examination, which was cancelled due to paper leak, would now be held on March 30.

"Accepting recommendations of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), we have decided to conduct the exam (Chemistry) on March 30," Patra said.

The minister has also asked the director of Higher Education department to carry out an internal probe into the matter.
The authorities of CHSE had a harrowing time this morning as they were forced to cancel the Chemistry test scheduled for today after the paper was suspected to have met a similar fate like Physics paper yesterday.

On Thursday, the Council authorities cancelled the Physics exam as the question paper was published in a vernacular daily before commencement of the test.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the Physics question paper leak case after the issue rocked the Assembly yesterday. Congress leader Prasad Harichandan too raised question on a full-proof examination system citing the matriculation exam last year.

Despite elaborate security system arranged by the Government, the back to back leakage of question papers have brought headache for the students. Similar type of incident happening in two consecutive days is said to be first in the history of CHSE.

CHSE this year had arranged unprecedented security for the month long test by asking exam centre authorities to keep the papers in iron safes. District administrations and police were roped in for the first time for smooth conduct of the exam.

Meanwhile, a four-member team of Crime Branch led by DSP SK Patnaik reached the CHSE office for inquiry into Physics paper leak case. The test will be held on March 25.
