Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education department today published the first phase cut-off list for admission into Plus-II courses in different institutions across Odisha.

In Science stream, Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack has the highest cut-off of 90 percent followed by BJB Higher Secondary School in Bhubaneswar with 88.67 percent. Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Neelakantha Nagar in Berhampur is the third most sought-after college in the State with a cut-off of 87.67 percent.

Similarly, BJB Higher Secondary School has the highest cut-off in Arts stream with 71.17 percent followed by Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School with 70.17 percent. Patita Paban Higher Secondary School at Sainkula in Ghasipura is the third most sought-after college in the stream with 68.5 percent.

The highest cut-off percentage for Commerce stream is at Gopalpur Higher Secondary School in Gopalpur, Ganjam with 80.6 percent followed by Dhenkanal Evening Higher Secondary School with 76.17 percent and Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School with 76 percent.

Director of Central Higher Secondary Education(CHSE), Sundarlal Seal, said, "This time 3,33,573 students have been selected for 1st cut-off list. Their admission process will begin from tomorrow."

Chairman of BJB Higher Secondary School, Bishnu Charan Das, said, "Compared to last year, cut-off mark is less for our college this year. We have made all arrangements for the admission process to be held at our college."

"The sanctioned strength in Arts is 384, 256 in Science and 192 in Commerce in our college. We have notified the students for the admission process and we are prepared for it," said Bipra Charan Mahakud, Chairman-in charge, Gopalpur Higher Secondary School.

Students can log into – www.samsodisha.gov.in – to know the details of the admissions. This year, as many as 4,06,177 students had registered their names for admission into Plus II junior colleges across the State.

Students selected in the first merit list can take part in the admission process from July 3 to July 6.

The second merit list will be announced on July 8 and admission will be conducted between July 9 and 11. Spot admission for students who fail to get admission in the first and second phases will be carried out from July 20 to 22. Thereafter, classes will commence from July 24.

A total of 3, 97,125 students have passed Matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha this year. While 1,181 students passed in A1 grade, 9,938 in A2 grade and 24,991 in B1 grade.
