Bhubaneswar: In a bid to meet the growing water crisis, the government today initiated a pilot project on harvesting rainwater. The project will be implemented in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur in the first phase.
The government has planned to spend Rs 100 crore in five years. The project is mandatory for all government buildings and quarters.
It will cover 550 government and 405 private places in the first phase. A subsidy up to Rs 45,000 will be provided to the private party who is interested to implement the project from own place, sources said.
