Pilgrimage train with senior citizens flagged off from Titlagarh

Bolangir: A pilgrimage train with senior citizens of 4 districts was flagged off from Titlagarh in Bolangir today. This train will carry around 1000 pilgrims from Bargarh, Bolangir, Sundergarh and Subarnapur to Rishikesh and Haridwar.

The State government has spent around Rs 11 crore for the pilgrimage programme.

The pilgrimage train was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through video conferencing while Minister for Tourism, Ashok Panda was present at Titlagarh to flag off the train.

“The train is carrying around 1000 passengers. The passengers have been given individual identity and will be provided catering and warm clothes by the IRCTC during the journey. There is an onboard doctors’ team which will provide healthcare services to the passengers,” said Panda.

Titlagarh MLA, Tukuni Sahu and Bolangir district Collector Arindam Dakua were also present at the flagging-off ceremony.
