Cuttack: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the High Court by social activist Akshya Kumar Das and Bijay Ballabh Pradhan, the guardian of a candidate, to provide Rs 2000 as compensation to each HSC canditate to meet unnecessary expenses for re-appearing in the examination scheduled to be held from April 17 following the question paper theft incident.

The PIL which mentioned Mass Education Department and Board Authorities as Opponent parties said the students must not bear the examination related expenses and they must be compensated for it. The petitioners have also demanded that the entire incident should be probed by an independent agency and those found guilty must be punished.
