Party workers oppose Dhruba Sahoo’s candidature in front of Naveen Niwas
Bhubaneswar: Displeasure and resentment over selection of Dhruba Sahoo as BJD’s candidate for Rajnagar Assembly constituency in Kendrapara district is getting worse. More than hundreds of BJD party workers and supporters from Rajnagar and Pattamundai today protested in front of Naveen Niwas demanding cancellation of Dhruba’s candidature.
The protestors alleged that Dhruba is involved in Markfed paddy procurement scam. The party workers raised slogans and protested in front of BJD president’s residence demanding another candidate instead of Dhruba, informed sources.
Agitating party worker, Debashis Patra said, “The candidate selected by the party president is involved in different tender fixing cases, Markfed paddy procurement scam and also has close relationship with mafias. We demand the party president to change the candidate for Rajnagar Assembly seat.”
Another party worker, Sanjib Nayak said, “Dhruba Sahoo is completely corrupt and is involved in different anti-social activities. If party president doesn’t change the candidate for Rajnagar, the party will suffer.”
Though Dhruba has not yet responded to the accusations, a few days back he had stated “I welcome any kind of opposition as there would be rivals in a democratic set up. I hope to sail through the elections by taking everybody together.”
