Cuttack: The family members of the 10-day old baby girl, born at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, are considering to knock the doors of the court, if appropriate steps were not taken by the medical authority in the alleged child-swapping case. The SCB Medical authorities however have refuted conduct DNA test on the new born baby to determine its parentage.

Family members of Sushant and Rashmita Mallik from  Nischintkoili under Cuttack district alleged that Rashmita gave birth to a baby boy but they were handed over a baby girl. They also alleged that they have become victim of the rampant child-swapping case which is ongoing in the medical.

Last Saturday, members of the High Court Advocate Committee who visited the baby suggested for the baby’s DNA and foot print test. Meanwhile, the SCB Medical College authority has decided not to conduct the medical as well as the DNA test to know the identity of the baby girl. The authority has also requested the district administration to handover the child to a non-government organisation for her upbringing.
