Parents oppose Odisha govt’s school fee regulatory committee
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Parent Associations’ Forum (OPAF) has opposed the state government’s fee regulatory committee alleging that it is yet another means to exploit parents. At a press conference held in Bhubaneswar today, the association protested the formation of such a committee and warned to launch protests.
The association complained that the school authorities are charging arbitrary fees and exploiting parents.
Rabi Das, Convener, Odisha Parent Associations’ Forum said “We have been protesting and will take it forward in a bigger way. This is ultimate exploitation.”
The parents’ association also alleged that the government is in a rush to form the fee regulatory committee by ignoring the directives of the High Court and the Supreme Court.
“The children are facing trouble in schools and there is no arrangement for this. This needs to stop and a proper regulation has to be brought,” added Das.
