Paradip refinery workers launch protest over various demands
Paradip: Demanding fulfillment of various demands, the Paradip Ersama Industrial Workers’ Union (PEIWU) staged protest by waving black flags before IOCL’s administrative office today.
“We have been long demanding the fulfillment of our demands. The management has been delaying and denying us citing one reason or other. Today’s protest is against the callous attitude of the management,” said Paradip Ersama Industrial Workers’ Union General secretary, Sameer Kumar Biswal.
According to sources, the union has been demanding salary hike, timely disbursal of salary and withdraw plans of laying-off existing workers.
The workers have threatened to continue their agitation and resumed their respective duties wearing black badges as a mark of protest.
The union has warned that the strike would continue till 22nd of this month.
