Jagatsinghpur: Paradip Police on Wednesday rescued a baby boy who was allegedly kidnapped by a domestic help on August 17. The investigating cops have detained the woman for questioning.

Based on the complaint lodged by Shatrughan Samal of Titira village, father of the two-and-a-half-year-old baby, police had launched a manhunt.

As per the complaint, Shatrughan had visited one of his relative’s house in Paradip along with his wife and son on August 17. Later, the domestic help of Samal’s relative, Manini Sahu, fled with the child on the same day. After failing to know whereabouts of the woman and the child, Samal filed an FIR with Paradip Police.

After the baby went missing, it was being alleged that some influential people were behind the incident. It was also speculated that the couple had given their baby to Manini to get huge amount of money in return.
