Bhubaneswar: Thirty Para Teachers were today injured during demonstration at Lower PMG Square when police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the agitating teachers. Seven policemen were also injured in the incident.

The police first used water canons to disperse the striking teachers demanding regularisation of service. However, the police resorted to lathi-charge when the situation went beyond control. It was alleged that the teachers also attacked the security personnel on duty. The incident left thirty para-teachers and seven policemen injured. The injured teachers have been admitted to the Capital hospital for treatment.

Heavy police bandobust has been made at Lower PMG Square to control the situation. The Para Teachers have been holding dharna for the last six days demanding regularisation service.
