A 235-kg golden bow named ‘Kodanda’ began its journey from Odisha to Ayodhya on Friday, marking a significant spiritual and cultural event. The ceremonial bow was flagged off from Hanuman Vatika in Rourkela and will travel across all 30 districts of Odisha before reaching Ayodhya.
Crafted using five metals, gold, silver, aluminium, zinc, and iron, the golden bow reflects a blend of devotion, craftsmanship, and national pride. The bow carries inscriptions commemorating India’s military achievements, ranging from the Kargil War to the success of Operation Sindoor, along with the names of martyred brave soldiers. A large crowd gathered at the spot to catch a glimpse of the golden bow.

Measuring eight feet in length and three-and-a-half feet in width, the bow stands as a symbol of strength and reverence. It has been meticulously crafted by 40 women artisans from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, showcasing traditional skill and dedication. According to the schedule, the golden bow is slated to reach Ayodhya on January 22.
One of the devotees expressed her joy, 'It is a moment of immense pride for the entire state of Odisha as the golden bow is being sent from Rourkela to Ram Janmabhoomi. The bow will begin its journey today and will travel through all 30 districts of Odisha. I appeal to everyone to light diyas and offer prayers for its safe and auspicious journey.'
