Nabrangpur: Over 80 quintals of paddy worth lakhs of rupees reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out in Jhandariguda village of Nabarangpur district today.

As per reports, the blaze originated from the paddy stacks which belonged to siblings Madhu Bhatra and Mangu Bhatra of the village. Both of them owned 40 quintals of paddy each.

After spotting the flames coming out of the paddy stacks the duo immediately informed the fire services personnel.

However, the fire fighters failed to douse the fire as the intensity of the flames was extremely high and in no time it engulfed the entire paddy stacks.

Meanwhile, the exact reason behind the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained.
