Over 40 children taken ill after consuming stale food in Cuttack

Cuttack: Panic gripped Parbatipur village in Kandarei panchayat under Athagarh block of Cuttack district as more than forty children were taken ill today after consuming leftover food from a feast arranged in their village yesterday.

According to sources, a funeral dinner was arranged in the village on Sunday.  In a bid to avoid wastage, the leftover food was distributed in the village which the kids consumed today.

Soon after eating lunch, the kids complained of stomach pain and began vomiting following which their health condition deteriorated.

The kids were rushed to Athagarh hospital by their parents and family members where they are undergoing treatment, informed sources.

As per medical reports, the children fell ill on account of consuming stale food.
