As electric lights illuminated the village today for the first time, residents reportedly celebrated with joy, beating drums, dancing to its tune and welcoming the long-awaited development.

"Tata Power was able to complete the village electrification on a war footing within just 10 days, and we are thankful to them for their swift efforts. We have identified the un-electrified villages in the district, as well as those where solar panels are not functioning. Our aim is to ensure electrification in all these villages in different phases," said Ganjam District Collector V Keerthi Vasan.

"There are some solar-electrified villages in the district. The residents have requested that these villages be shifted to the regular electricity supply system. We are examining their requests. Teams will be sent to these villages to conduct surveys. Subsequently, electrification work will begin after the construction of roads, which is the primary requirement," he added.
