Rasogolla origin: Odisha forms 3 panels
Bhubaneswar: In the wake of West Bengal’s claim that the rasogolla originated there, Odisha’s Science and Technology department has formed three committees to probe into the information about the sweetmeat.
Speaking to mediapersons, Science and Technology minster Pradip Panigrahi said representatives from MSME and Cuture departments will be also members of the teams.
While one team will submit a report after examining the information available, another one will look into on what basis West Bengal is claiming that rasogolla is their invention.
The third committee will present papers supporting Odisha’s claim on rasogolla.
Notably, the West Bengal government has taked steps for formally staking claim to rasogolla as its invention through the GI route.
