Two injured in Puri bomb attack
Puri: Two persons were critically injured after a bomb was hurled during a group clash at SCS College square in Puri on Wednesday morning. The injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
Police seized one live bomb from the spot and have detained two persons for interrogation in this connection.
According to sources, past rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the bombing. An FIR was previously lodged at the town police station in connection with a clash between two groups led by Deepak Khuntia and Raja Swain.
Talking to the media, Puri DCP Prabhat Routray informed that the incident happened at around 10 am today.
“Deepak Khuntia with his two associates came to the college square on a motor bike and attacked Raja Swain and his gang which triggered a major fight between the two groups. Amid the scuffle, Deepak Khuntia pelted two bombs at the other gang,” Routray added.
After reaching the spot, police seized a live bomb from Raja Swain.
Police is investigating the case.
