Two found murdered in Bhubaneswar slum

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, two persons, inclusing a woman, were found murdered inside a house in Nilakantha Slum in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar this morning. According to sources, family dispute is alleged to be the reason behind the murder. Another woman identified as Dulu Tudu was also seriously injured and has been sent to Cuttack hospital for treatment.

Though the deceased are yet to be identified, it has come to light that they were daily labourers.

Sources said the incident occurred late last night but came to light early today morning when neighbors found the bodies of a man and a woman inside a thatched house.
The owner of the house, identified as Gopal Bisra, is untraceable and is presumed to be absconding. Both the victims are reportedly relatives of Gopal and were staying in his house.

Meanwhile, Police commissioner RP Sharma, along with other police officials, have reached the spot and are conducting investigations. A forensic team is also examining the crime scene. Though any concrete motive behind the murder is yet to be established, police is looking at various angles to ascertain the reason behind the murder, added sources.

“The owner of the house is still absconding. Preliminary investigations reveal that very hard and blunt weapons have been used as there are fracture injuries on the bodies. The actual cause of death can be ascertained after the post mortem,” said Police commissioner RP Sharma.
