Two assistant engineers in Vigilance net
Bhubaneswar/ Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at the office and residences of Puri PWD department’s assistant engineer Krushna Chandra Mallick at Sailashree Vihar area hear and four other places on charges of accumulation of properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
From primary investigation it was revealed that he owns properties worth more than Rs 1 crore. His three-storied house located at Sailashree Vihar would cost around Rs 70 lakh, said a vigilance official.
According to sources, a number of teams of the state investigating agency are also conducting raids at his another house located in Nandankanan area and his office in Puri and government quarters.
Similarly, the Vigilance sleuths today also conducted raids at the residence of Patrapur small irrigation department’s assistant engineer Anirudh Sethi’s residence including five other places in Ganjam.
According sources, a number of teams of the state investigating agency headed by Vigilance DCP Surendranath Panigrahi are conducting simultaneous raids at five places.
Our team has conducted raids on a under construction three-storied building of Sethi, Panigrahi informed.
Besides, we have also raided the house of Sethi’s brother-in-law’s residence and his business partner’s house today, Panigrahi added.
It may be noted here that, the Vigilance department on Tuesday raided the residence of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BMC) junior engineer Kanhu Charan Das at Baidyanath Nagar and seven other places and seized the properties worth Rs 1,11,46,000.
