Truckers’ stir in 5th day, transportation hit

Bhubaneswar: With the strike by truck and tipper operators over freight rate across India entering its fifth day on Monday, the trucks which were carrying goods from other states are standing at several places.

Sources said around hundreds of such trucks which enter into Odisha in through NH-5 were standing near Remuna Golei in Balasore since Thursday.

Meanwhile, taking advantage of the nationwide strike by transporters, unscrupulous traders in Odisha have started hoarding and increasing prices of essential commodities like potato and onion among others.

The drivers and helpers of such trucks were seen having a tough time on the road.
