Stop killing tribals or face music, BCMS warns Maoists

Narayanpatna: The Biplabi Chasi Mulia Sangh (BCMS) has served a warning to the Maoists asking them to desist from mindless killing of innocent tribals.

The warning of the revolutionary outfit has come through a number of posters found in several areas of Narayanpatna block in Koraput district on Monday. The posters have its president saying the Anchalika Adivasi Sangh had started a series of agitations to make Narayanpatna free from liquor, bonded labour and enable tribals to get back their land occupied by non-tribal landlords.

“The Sangh had not refused the offer of the Maoists to help in its campaign. But the Red Rebels have killed nearly 70-80 members of the Sangh after branding them as police informers. Following the killing of these innocent tribal members of the Sangh, there was unrest in the area as a result of which we have severed our relations with the Maoists and continued our agitations. But as the Maoists have again killed two members of the Sangh in the last four days,” the president has said.

He further said if the Maoists do not refrain from such brutal activities, the Sangh will give them a befitting reply.
