State to import 2500 mt pulses through Nafed

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to arrest the rising price of pulses, the State government on Saturday said it has placed an order to import 2500 metric tonne through National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (Nafed).

Speaking to mediapersons here, Food and Supply minister Sanjay Das Burma said the district collectors were asked to keep an eye on retailers to curb black marketing of pulses and control prices.

Further, the minister said the price situation is likely to improve in next 15 days.
