State sizzles at 46 deg Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Scorching heat wave continues to make life miserable in the State, as many places today recorded the daytime temperature above 40 degrees Celsius.

According to reports, Titlagarh, a western town of the State, was the hottest place where the mercury level touched 46.2 degree Celsius.

For the first time this year, the daytime temperature of a place in the State has crossed 46 degree Celsius, the report added.

Besides, Bhwanipatana and Jharsugada also registered temperature of 46 degree Celsius each.

Fearing the blazing sun, many people were seen remained indoors and few were seen wearing scarves to cover their face and hands.

The maximum daytime temperature in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were recorded at 42.7 and 40 degree Celsius respectively.
