Roads, bridges across Odisha in sorry state

Bhubaneswar: Two days after the Centre announced that it would invest around Rs 35,000 crore for road development in the State, the ground report done by OTV today tells a different story altogether.

According to reports, there are many roads and bridges in different districts are in bad condition, and some even in a state that people living nearby areas are having sleepless nights.

People staged a protest demanding the construction of seven km long road starting from Talasahi in Sudrukumpa to Madikula in Kandhamal district.

There are many villages under Sudrukumpa, Sudreju and Bilabadi blocks are facing the same fate each and every day.

Similarly, Rudhia bridge, which was washed away by a flood in 2011, and the construction work is yet to be completed after four years. As a result, the people living near here are facing lot of problems and using boat as a mode of communication.

In another report, Bania bridge in Nabarangpur district is facing the same fate, as the construction work, which began five years ago, is yet to be finished.
