Remuneration of Siksha Sahayaks, Gana Sikshaks hiked
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday decided to hike the monthly remuneration of about 85,000 Siksha Sahayaks and Gana Sikshaks.
The hike in the monthly remuneration of these aforesaid teachers was approved by chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
Announcing this at a press briefing here, School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra said that the revised remuneration of these teachers would be retrospectively implemented from December 1, 2015.
The revised monthly remuneration of 27645 Siksha Sahayaks, apart from EPF, would now be Rs 7400 as against Rs 5200 earlier while 34846 Junior Siksha Sahayaks, apart from EPF, would now get Rs 9200 as against Rs 5200 earlier.
In the Gana Sikshak category, the revised monthly remuneration of 256 trained Matriculates, apart from EPF, would now be Rs 6400 as against Rs 3700 earlier while 16868 trained Plus Two teachers, apart from EPF, would now get Rs 7000 as against Rs 4000 earlier.
Besides, 536 non-trained Matriculate Gana Sikshaks, apart from EPF, would now get Rs 5600 as against Rs 3200 earlier, while 4852 non-trained Plus Two teachers, apart from EPF, would get Rs 6400 as against Rs 3700 earlier, the minister said.
Mishra said following the hike in the remuneration of these teachers, the annual expenditure of the state government on this head would go up from Rs 648.64 crore to Rs 925.59 crore.
