Remand of D-brothers ends today

Cuttack: Remand of notorious criminal siblings Sushil and Susant Dhalasamanta brothers or (D-brothers) ends today and the police likely to produce them in court tomorrow.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police has elicited several pieces of important information during its interrogation of D-brothers in the seven days remand period including the arrest of businessman Pramod Patra alias Bhuan.

The Police produced Bhuan before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) at his residence here following which he was sent to Choudwar Circle Jail as police did not seek to take him on remand.

Notably, a 20-member team led by Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora along with two platoons of police personnel on February 20 raided Bhuan’s residence at Shankarpur and had seized Rs 76, 20, 000 and other incriminating documents.

Bhuan, the President of Shankarpur-Badambadi Puja Committee, was arrested for his alleged links with the DS brothers and involvement in murder, attempt to murder, extortion and bomb hurling cases.
