Police gearing up for ‘Bahuda’, ‘Sunabesa’; force deployment unchanged
Puri: With only a day left for ‘Bahuda Yatra’ (return journey) of the holy Trinity which will be followed by the Sunabesa (golden adornment) on the following day, the police administration is gearing up to ensure a hassle free conduct of the rituals and is putting a lot of emphasis on crowd and traffic management in Puri.
According to administration sources, similar arrangements will be in place for the upcoming rituals of Bahuda and Sunabesa. Moreover, for Sunabesa ritual the administration has decided to deploy 50 additional personnel for smooth management of traffic and crowd.
Officer on special duty Soumendra K Priyadarshi said “Given the turnout of devotees during the onward journey of chariots, we are expecting increased number of devotees during Bahuda. We have analysed the route of the return journey of the chariot and will ensure that the ritual is peaceful.
Without any reduction we have kept the force deployment intact and for Sunabesa ritual we are augmenting the traffic police deployment with additional personnel, informed Puri SP Ashish Singh.
