Plus-II practical examination from today
Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus-II practical examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will commence from today.
According to sources, the questions have been sent to the respective examination centers. The college authorities are free to decide on the timings of the examination. Surveillance by Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras has been made mandatory at all the centers, added CHSE sources.
The practical examination, scheduled to be held on January 20, was postponed to January 27 following the death of a CHSE employee. The examination will continue till February 2.
Earlier yesterday, talking to media persons, CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi said; “We have already sent the practical question papers. This time, we have made a change that evaluation of the practical test will be finished before evaluation of theory papers.”
“We are planning to evaluate the practical papers between February 10 and 29,” Chhatoi informed.
However, no changes have been made in the schedule of examinations for theory papers. The examination for the theory papers will begin from March 2 as scheduled.
This year, around 3.73 lakh students will appear the Plus II examination, which includes 2.45 lakh in Arts stream and 85, 000 and 32, 000 from Science and Commerce streams respectively.
For smooth conduct of the exam, the board will set up around 203 examination management hubs where question papers will be kept in safe.
Examination of vocational courses will start from March 18 and will continue till March 29.
For the first time, the council also decided to e-evaluate answer sheets of all subjects of Science and Commerce streams this year.
