Patrapada murder case: Police seek NBW against Raju Barik, 22 others

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today moved the SDJM court here seeking a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against 22 accused and Raju Barik, the man behind the sensational Dilip Nayak murder case near Patrapada on June 18.

Raju, a singer-turned-politician-turned-criminal, has been absconding since then, and the police have not been able to nab him even though they had managed to arrest other three accused including his elder brother in this connection.

If the court agrees and allows a NBW against him, the police can take the legal route and will take stpes to confiscate his properties, an option which might force Raju to surrender.

It may be recalled here that the 35-year-old contractor Dillip Nayak was shot dead by rival Raju’s group near a construction site behind the AIIMS Hospital in Patrapada under Khandagiri police station on June 18.
