Patrapada murder case: Police takes Raju Barik on three-day remand
Bhubaneswar: The Commisionerate police today was granted permission by the District and Sessions court here to take Raju Barik, the main accused in contractor Dillip Nayak murder case in Patrapada on a three-day remand for interrogation.
The police will question him about the main reason behind the sensational murder, and whereabouts of his other associates.
“The court granted a three-demand, and we will question him to know the exact sequence of the incidents,” police commissioner R P Sharma said.
Notably, a special team of Commissionerate Police had arrested Barik from the backyard of a relative’s house in Khandapara of Nayagarh district on Monday night.
So far, the police had arrested four persons, including Raju and his elder brother Jaya Barik and launched a manhunt to arrest other 22 persons involved in the crime.
It may recalled here that, contractor Dillip Nayak was shot dead by Raju and some of his associates at a site near All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Patrapara under Khandagiri police station on June 18.
