Oram to take up scribe security issue with Centre
Bhubaneswar: Delving into the issue of security of journalists and problems faced by them, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram said he will take up the matter with the Centre.
Exhorting the scribes to be conscious of their accountability to the society, Oram said journalism and politics are inter-related and efforts should be made to file news stories in the right perspective.
The Union Minister was speaking at a function on the occasion of National Press Day, organised by National Journalist Welfare Board in collaboration with Doordarshan, All India Radio, Press Information Board (PIB), Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) and Amit Institute here yesterday.
Among others, Odisha minister for school and mass education Devi Prasad Mishra, president of NJWB Pradosh Patnaik, vice-president Pradyumna Mohanty and editor of Odiya daily Sambad, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik spoke.
