Vidyalaya Sikshak Mahasangh calls off stir
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vidyalaya Sikshak Mahasangh today called off its strike following the State government’s assurance to fulfill its demands, said Prakash Chandra Mohanty, convener of the Mahasangh here.
Mohanty further stated the government will issue a notification regarding the fulfillment of demands this evening.
“The schools will be opened from today and normal classes will be resumed,” he said.
As many as 40,000 teachers of 4,000 schools in the State were striking since August 10 demanding regularization of their service and implementation of the grant-in-aid system of salary payment.
