Cong’s 2nd phase ‘Jagaran Yatra’ begins
Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to highlight the failures of State and Central governments, the Odisha Congress on Friday launched its second phase of ‘Jagaran Yatra’ from Nuapada district.
As per the schedule, the party began its second phase of yatra from Ghuchagyda village to Jugenpadar village under Sinapali block. Later a public meeting was held at Jugenpadar village.
Earlier in the day, PCC president Prasad Harichandan, Odisha Congress in-charge B.K Hariprasad and deputy in-charge Subhankar Sarkar visited the house of Bhubaneswar Behera, a farmer who committed suicide, and met his family members in Khariar.
Leader of opposition Narasingh Mishra, senior congress leader Sarat Patnaik, Bhakta Charan Das and other party members and workers also attended the meeting.
According to sources, Congress will hold the ‘Jagaran Yatra’ at Narasinghguda in Nabarangpur district tomorrow.
The Congress will hold the Jagaran Yatra in 10-phases. The party has revved up its activities after the recent visit of the party vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state.
