Mining scam: Indrani Patnaik’s son Anurag quizzed

Bhubaneswar: A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials interrogated Anurag Patnaik, a representative of mining leaseholding firm Indrani Patnaik, for seven hours at the agency’s office here today.

After the questioning, Anurag told mediapersons, “The sleuths asked me about the accounts of Altrade group, in which I am a director.”

Anurag, son of Indrani Patnaik who owns the mining firm named after him, claimed that his company Altrade has no links with the leaseholding firm nor is he holding any position in it.

Source said Anurag submitted to his interrogators some important documents, which the agency sleuths verified.

Notably, on July 9, the sleuths had raided 15 places across the country, including at least 10 in the State, in connection with the money-laundering angle in the illegal mining case and summoned 10 persons to appear for questioning.
