Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer Yogesh Bahadur Khurania took charge as Twin City police commissioner today. He took over the reins from RP Sharma. Khurania became the fifth commissioner since the inception of Twin City Police Commissionerate.
“The Commissionerate Police has evolved over the past eight years and it has been able to remove all doubts over its effectiveness in the minds of the public. I will ensure to take this good work forward,” said Khurania after assuming office.
“Maintaining law and order in the twin cities will be my priority and I will work towards making Bhubaneswar Commissionerate the best in the country. Moreover, emphasis will be laid on traffic management in Bhubaneswar and Police will be more sensitive to issues of women, children and senior citizens,” he added.
Khurania, who was the Special Director of State Vigilance, was appointed the commissioner of Twin City police by the State government on January 21. Outgoing commissioner Sharma has been posted as the Special Director General (DG), State Vigilance on promotion.
