Jagannath ‘daru’ leaves Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The ‘daru’ or the wooden logs meant for creation of new idol of Lord Jagannath left the city this evening after a stopover at a Jagannath temple near Pandara.

Braving the hot and humid weather, hundreds of devotees lined up on both sides of the road to witness the daru and the proceedings.

Similarly, at Pandara, where the daru was sojourning, had transformed into a pilgrim spot with devotees gathering to offer worship and have a glimpse of the daru.
